The demand planner has a vital role in any FMCG environment and this is a great opportunity to work at Head Office in the heart of this successful branded and own label business. Accurate forecasting and inventory management alongside proficiency and agility in this planning discipline. The ability to work with sets of data, spot trends and work alongside other functions to ensure the front end of the supply chain is managed effectively and efficiently is essential.

The Planner is responsible for:

  • Accurate demanding forecasts across the product range working with previous sales data, marked trends, season uplifts, promotional activity and other issues that can affect customer demand.
  • Inventory management across multiple distribution centres ensuring the balance between stock levels and cost is effective.
  • Being a proactive member of the team, identifying any issues that could affect supply and resolving or escalating those issues when required.
  • Ensure frequent data checks are carried out to analyse the forecasting models used and adjusting to ensure optimum efficiency.
  • Monitor all supply chain KPI's specifically forecasting and inventory management.
  • Focus and awareness on trends and customer order patterns.
  • Daily communication with suppliers to keep ahead of orders, avoiding any stock supply issues and ensuring levels meet demand.
  • Working closely with logistics and operational teams to ensure efficiency of the operation.

What you need to apply:

  • Planning experience ideally in the FMCG or food industry.
  • Good analytical skills. You enjoy working with and able to interpret data.
  • Strong broad understanding of supply chain.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills - written and oral.
  • A strong eye for detail with optimum organisation skills.
  • Keen to learn and develop with the possibility to progress into further supply chain roles.
