Are you an experienced Science teacher looking for a new, rewarding role. If so we may have the role for you.

We are recruiting for an Independent Special School for students aged from 11 to 18 years with social, emotional and mental health needs, alongside autistic spectrum conditions or characteristics, including ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). 

Set in 5 acres of beautiful Surrey countryside, we aim to ensure that all our pupils are given the opportunity to achieve their full potential in a structured and caring environment. 

As a Class Teacher you will play a crucial role in helping our students reach their full learning potential. You will teach pupils in a way that ensures every pupil experiences a high quality inclusive school experience.

Your key responsibilites will include:

  • The writing of detailed and accurate Individual Educational Plans for pupils, based on their  unique needs. Using CATS profile, EHCPs, their learning objectives and prescribed strategies to achieve best outcomes and progress for all pupils.

  • To be the lead accountable person to the Head teacher for the progress (academic and pastoral in line with their EHCP outcomes) of a small case load of pupils.

  • To support the Head teacher in the collation and recording of pupils’ attainment data – academic and pastoral.

Qualities we are looking for in a teacher:

  • A strong and unrelenting commitment to the safeguarding and protection of all pupils at all times. 
  • A willingness to work with the policies, procedures and protocols of Burstow Park School  at all times, demonstrating mutual respect and regard for students, colleagues, line management and the school leadership team.
  • Demonstration of a solution-orientated approach, striving for  continual improvement.
  • Contributing to a high achieving staff team and taking ownership of own role in positively affecting staff morale.
  • Being open to new ideas and initiatives for the purpose of continually improving provision for pupils.

We are looking for a candidate to start ASAP, we are looking for a permanent member of staff, offering a salary between £30,000 - £40,000 dependant on experience.
