About our client

Our client is one of the largest independent moving group in the UK with over 40 local offices across the country and 3 overseas offices. They are an award-winning company who offers a fantastic working environment.

Responsibilities:

• To promptly arrange quotes for local offices on international moves from the UK to overseas destinations.

• Adding shipment information onto bespoke operational database.

• To calculate and / or check the sea freight and delivery charges

• To check any operational details with the local office (Member) and/or receiving agent (destination company in the country of arrival) as necessary

• To liaise with local office (Member) ensuring all necessary customs, contact, insurance and contract details are correct

• To ensure all documents are received by receiving agent in time for customs clearance / bonding container in accordance with ISO and FAIM manuals

• To arrange with Agents with regard to delivery (and send them all necessary paperwork)

• To communicate all relevant details to both overseas agents and members

• Update computer system (Intermove) and files ensuring that all relevant information is correct

• To create sales invoices and approve purchase invoices for payment as necessary

• To check with the accounts department payments to be made to suppliers (sea freight companies for example)

• To check any change to customs procedures and update as necessary

• Monitor changes to freight rates & exchange rates and updated accordingly and to relay to the local office any impact on pricing for the customer

• Ensuring the Intermove system is always up to date with latest developments, such as changes to price, transit time and companies involved

The Ideal candidate will have:

• 2 years’ experience (or more) in a similar role working within a busy exports/shipping department

• Knowledge of database systems and Microsoft Office packages

• Experience of working within a dynamic service driven team delivering against targets

• Excellent communications skills and a passion for good customer service and satisfaction

• A strong attention to detail with the ability to swiftly and accurately produce quotations and maintain good administrational skills

IT literacy is mandatory; the company uses Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) as well as an internal bespoke operational database.
