A leading engineering & manufacturing company based in Surrey is urgently recruiting for an experienced TIG Welder to join their ever-increasing manufacturing & production teams.
Role Overview:
- Play a key role in the assembly and fabrication of large vacuum chambers.
- The role will primarily involve the running of all facets of the welding process in the tube production area.
You will be working within a clean room environment - You will be TIG Welding on Stainless Steel materials
- Ability to weld thin gauge materials is essential for this role.
- Must be able to weld on materials ranging from 0.2mm up to 10mm in thickness.
- Must be able to read understand engineering drawings
- The Welder will support the manufacturing engineer promoting continuous improvement within the assembly process to reduce assembly times whilst monitoring quality and output.
- Previous experience of fine welding on vacuum chambers would be an added advantage
Responsibilities:
* Welding within a clean room environment.
* Be responsible for H & S of all welding personnel and processes.
* Be responsible for all safety related processes and compliance associated with the welding process (Compressed gasses, COSHH, HSE etc.).
* Ensure the welding skill base is developed to ensure the assembly process is always supported.
* Maintain the clean room environment to avoid particulate contamination and to ensure the highest possible standards of cleanliness.
Qualifications:
* Extensive clean-room experience
* Proven experience in UHV technology
* Proven experience in TIG welding processes.
* Previous experience working in clean room.
* 5s, and process improvement experience an advantage.
* Knowledge of all facets of manufacturing processes.
* UHV leak checking experience essential.
HNC or ONC in an Engineering or Scientific discipline and/or suitable work experience would be desirable but is not essential.
