Job Purpose: 

To be responsible for co-ordinating all internal and external marketing communications for the Town Council. To conduct market and prospect research, organise marketing campaigns and events, create and coordinate marketing content and facilitate cross-functional team efforts. 

Scope:

  • To adhere to standards set to ensure health and safety at work, which includes following procedures correctly and participating in relevant health and safety training, in helping to create a safe and supportive organisation for all.
  • To undertake tasks as required to support the Council’s range of events and festivals as directed. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  1. Create marketing content and campaigns for all online and offline communications, being mindful of digital poverty in the locality and the need to address this through appropriate marketing channels.
  2. Work with the Events Co-Ordinator to ensure provision of appropriate promotional materials for the events programme.
  3. Conduct market research as directed by the Communications Manager.
  4. Form strong and effective working relationships with key partners and businesses keeping up to date with events and helping to organise and promote them.
  5. Assist in ensuring that all social media platforms in use by the Council are developed maintained and monitored.
  6. Act in a polite, professional, and capable manner at all times, as would be expected of an employee of the Town Council.
  7. Undertake any other duties required by the Council consistent with the level and scope of the post.
  8. Any other task as directed by the Communications Manager.
