Our client, a dynamic multi-disciplinary practice, is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their team based in Reigate. This position involves a mix of office and site work, with site visits across areas from Surrey to Cornwall, and office-based tasks when not on site.

The primary focus of the role is working with insurance companies, handling projects related to domestic properties affected by events such as fires or floods. Your responsibilities will include conducting initial property inspections, preparing detailed scopes of work, and serving as Contract Administrator and Principal Designer to oversee projects through to completion.

You will also be involved in assessing structurally unstable buildings, conducting surveys, creating technical drawings, and developing solutions for reinstatement or emergency repair work.



Building Surveyor Position Overview

  • Office-based in Reigate when not attending site visits.
  • Covering a project area that spans Surrey to Cornwall.
  • Primarily working on reinstatement and insurance-related projects.
  • Producing drawings, specifications, and models of structures for contractors.
  • Using CAD software for design simulations.
  • Collaborating with designers, including architects, to ensure safe project designs.
  • Performing contract administration, principal design, and structural surveying tasks.


Building Surveyor Position Requirements

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Building Surveying or construction
  • MRICS or MCIOB are advantageous but not essential
  • Willing to travel across the South of England and spend one night away every fortnight
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Excellent communication skills and people skills

  • Salary £30k - £55k - (DOE- Potentially more for the right candidate)
  • 25 Days holiday allowance plus BH
