  • Programme Manager Role Overview

    Objective: Ensure appropriate governance and timely delivery of projects related to the medium-term future of arts and culture in the borough, prompted by the inability to operate its theatre due to RAAC and following the Executive’s August 2024 decision.

    Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and Manage the Programme:

      • Ensure the programme progresses at the required pace.
      • Complete all necessary project and programme paperwork.
      • Ensure all project and programme management governance processes are correctly followed.
    • Oversee Individual Projects:

      • Development of the medium-term arts and cultural offer.
      • Future of the existing theatre building.
      • Staffing considerations.
      • Existing commitments and contracts.
      • Associated communications, engagement, and democratic processes.
    • Work with the Programme Working Group:

      • Collaborate with a core group of officers from across teams.
      • Ensure projects come together as a coherent programme.
      • Achieve ambitious timescales.

    Team Structure:

    • A core group of up to 15 officers, convening as the “programme working group” chaired by the Strategic Head of Communities and Wellbeing.
