- Provide dedicated one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist class teachers in implementing tailored learning plans that meet individual student needs.
- Support students with a variety of SEND, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties. and physical difficulties.
- Encourage and facilitate student participation in classroom and social activities.
- Help to create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff to monitor progress and adapt support strategies where necessary.
- Provide personal care to students when required.
- Build trusting relationships with students, ensuring they feel supported and valued.
- Previous experience working with children who have special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine desire to help children with SEND succeed.
- The ability to work well within a collaborative team environment.
- A proactive approach to learning and supporting students.
- Relevant qualifications in education or SEND are advantageous but not essential.
