About the Role:
We are looking for a Electrical Mate/Improver to join our team on an exciting commercial new build project. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to develop their skills and experience in the electrical industry while working alongside qualified electricians on a large-scale construction site.
As an Electrical Mate/Improver, you will assist with electrical installations, maintenance, and support on-site, contributing to the successful completion of the project. You will work under the supervision of qualified electricians, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with electrical installations and maintenance on a commercial new build project.
- Support qualified electricians with first fix and second fix installations.
- Carry out basic electrical tasks under the supervision of experienced electricians.
- Help with the preparation and cleaning of work areas.
- Ensure electrical installations comply with regulations and site-specific requirements.
- Assist with testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Help maintain high levels of safety on-site and assist with adhering to health and safety standards.
- Carry out any other electrical-related duties as required by the site supervisor.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- ECS Card (Electrical Mate/Improver or equivalent).
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Mate or Improver on construction sites (preferably on commercial new build projects).
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and installations.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely under supervision.
- Strong focus on health and safety compliance.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
- SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) certification (beneficial but not essential).
- First Aid qualification (preferred but not essential).
