Join the vibrant team at a fantastic secondary school in Redhill as an Attendance Officer, where you will play a crucial role in managing student attendance and supporting the Student Services office. This position requires a highly organized, flexible individual who excels in multitasking and maintains a positive and caring demeanour under pressure. You will work as a part of a well establish, small but supportive team. 

Day-to-Day of the Role:
  • Administer pupil attendance to ensure high levels of compliance with statutory guidance and school policies.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and other agencies to improve attendance levels and have confidence to call parents in a timely manner 
  • Provide support across various administrative tasks within the Student Services team.
  • Coordinate and manage emergency support protocols and first aid provisions.
  • Handle daily communications with parents regarding student absences and maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Offer reception cover during busy periods and lunch breaks, including handling first aid situations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A good standard of education (minimum GCSE Grade C in English & Mathematics or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with school management systems like Bromcom or SIMS.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Experience in managing attendance or working with young people is highly desirable.
  • Experienced and confidence user of Microsoft Office and Google suite.
