Horizon Teachers are working with an SEND school in the heart of Surrey that caters to students with special needs and disabilities. The school is for primary-aged students who have a large variety of needs, including severe learning needs, complex needs, autism and Social and emotional mental health needs. The school are looking for someone with any level of experience, provided they are ambitious and driven toward bettering the lives of the young people they work with.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the learning and development of students with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of personalized learning activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
- Help to create a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Assist with personal care tasks as required.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective support for students.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
- A relevant qualification in education or child care (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equiva-lent) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with diverse needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
