Your new companyWe are seeking Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) to join an exceptional Mental Health team located within the Surrey area! This is to join supportive locality based teams within a Mental Health service. Your new roleAs a qualified AMHP, you will undertake statutory duties as outlined in the Mental Health Act and the Care Act, as part of the Approved Mental Health Professional service. AMHPs in frontline teams conduct pure AMHP assessments, while those in community teams support the frontline team's rota and assist individuals, carers, and families in developing support plans to meet identified outcomes. This is achieved using a strength-based approach and leveraging family, friends, and community options where appropriate and eligible needs are identified. The role also includes contributing to the professional development of staff and students through supervision and training. What you'll need to succeedTo be considered for shortlisting for this position, the application must clearly demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to maintain personal Approved Mental Health Professional status (Warranted).
  • Professional qualification in Social Work.
  • Post-qualifying experience, including direct work with individuals who have mental health needs.
  • A working knowledge of relevant legislation, assessments, care plan preparation, and monitoring and reviewing outcomes.
  • Commitment to professional development, including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of mental health issues.
  • UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle due to rural locations.
