An excellent opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Technician (Electrical)

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician you will be proactive and capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to develop your own skills and those of their colleagues. The primary responsibility is to ensure the successful delivery of the planned maintenance regime, meeting statutory obligations while also providing a reactive breakdown response to balance customer and organisational needs.

Location: Cardiff

Salary: Up to 42,357 (dependent on skills and experience)

Working hours: Rolling 4 on 4 off shift pattern - 12 hour shifts (2 days/2 nights)

Duties & responsibilities of a Facilities Maintenance Technician

  • Maximising the existing facilities and infrastructure whilst maintaining strict safety standards.
  • To ensure compliance with statutory regulations and safety requirements.
  • To carry out preventative maintenance and reactive tasks as scheduled.
  • To document all allocated maintenance and reactive work.
  • To undertake training for new technology or systems and mandatory training for business requirements.
  • To provide escort for contractors and visitors working as required.
  • To work alongside an established team of technical engineers to deliver best working practices and contribute to passenger throughflow.
  • Work well with all departments, co-operating and co-ordinating works to ensure that all equipment is optimised and running efficiently.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Indentured electrical apprenticeship or similar
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Requirements for Electrical Installations
  • Full UK Driving License

Desirable

  • ONC in an engineering discipline
  • City and Guilds 2391 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations or similar.

Experience

Essential

  • General electrical Installation Work

Desirable

  • Mechanical Experience
  • Fault finding experience
  • AGL or airfield experience
