Manpower is recruiting a Maintenance Operative on behalf of our client.

Job Title: Maintenance Operative

Location: Wales - Bangor, Conwy, or Rhyl

Salary: 20,206 per annum plus either a company vehicle or 4,000 vehicle allowance per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours of Work: Part time. 3 days per week (Monday - Friday, 8.30 am - 5.00 pm)



Role Overview:

Reporting to the Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader, the Maintenance Operative will be responsible for undertaking both responsive and planned maintenance tasks in properties where Service Users reside. This role involves working from home with daily travel to carry out repairs and maintenance across allocated properties.



Key Responsibilities:



Property Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Perform a variety of maintenance tasks in occupied and vacant properties, including:

Plumbing: Conduct minor plumbing repairs and installations.
Carpentry: Carry out repairs and installations, including windows, doors, frames, fences, soffits, fascias, skirting, kitchen units, worktops, locks, floorboards, and stud walls.
Plastering: Undertake patch plastering as required.
Painting & Decorating: Prepare surfaces, remove old wallpaper, repair cracks, and apply decorative finishes.
Groundwork: Perform fencing, clearance, and general groundwork repairs.

  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently and in line with health and safety guidelines.


Connect and Collaborate:

  • Work closely with your line manager and team members.
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with colleagues as required.
  • Support and mentor team members through on-the-job training.
  • Provide cover for other staff when necessary.


Compliance & Record-Keeping:

  • Keep up to date with all written and verbal communications, including emails and calls.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies and procedures.


Professional Development:

  • Monitor own workload, progress, and development in the role.
  • Complete required core training and participate in ongoing development.

  • Ensure that any personal data held is kept secure and only shared when authorised.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintaining professionalism at all times.
