The Role:As Finance officer, you will support the Director of Finance & Operations, leading the school's financial management. This role involves overseeing daily finance operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and income generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily financial operations, including payments, cashflow, and systems.
  • Provide financial advice and maintain controls across departments.
  • Assist in the creation and amendment of financial policies.
  • Lead efforts to increase income and reduce costs.
  • Oversee payroll, ensuring timely payments.
  • Assist with budgets, management accounts, and reports.
  • Coordinate audits and financial returns.
  • Ensure data protection compliance and support subject access requests.

Person Specification:

  • Part or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a school or similar setting.
  • Strong communication skills to explain financial information to non-finance staff.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Knowledge of education finance and reporting.
  • Leadership skills to manage and support finance team members.
