Audit and Accounts Semi Senior

We are currently looking for an Audit and Accounts Semi Senior to join our accounts and audit team. This role is ideal for someone with at least twelve months of accountancy experience in a small to medium-sized practice in England. Our firm offers a comprehensive experience in accountancy and auditing, with a client base that includes small businesses, medium-sized companies with international connections, and not-for-profit entities. We provide study support for ACA or ACCA qualifications and a clear path for progression within a supportive and friendly working environment.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and management accounts for a diverse range of clients.
  • Conducting external audits and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Preparing corporation tax computations and submissions.
  • Engaging in VAT Return preparation and bookkeeping work as required.
  • Working both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality service to clients.
  • Balancing a workload that typically includes 40% accounts preparation, 40% audit, and 20% tax preparation, with variations throughout the year based on experience.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks as needed within a small firm setting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least twelve months of accountancy experience in a small to medium-sized practice in England.
  • Some experience with external audits, FRS 102 1A accounts, and corporation tax preparation is ideal.
  • Candidates with auditing study experience and client interaction are also considered.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Caseware accounts production, Digita Corporation Tax, Mercia Audit Manuals, and online bookkeeping packages such as Xero, Sage, and Quickbooks is beneficial.
