We are excited to announce the opening of a brand-new nursery in Ham Street, Richmond, in April 2025 and are looking for a dedicated Nursery Deputy Manager to join our leadership team, helping to establish the nurserys culture and standards right from the very start.
Key Responsibilities of the Nursery Deputy Manager:
- Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care, education, and safety are maintained.
- Take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Nursery Manager, ensuring the smooth running of the setting.
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of early years practitioners, promoting a positive and professional atmosphere.
- Assist in the development and implementation of age-appropriate learning plans and activities for children, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Ensure the nursery environment is nurturing, safe, and conducive to learning, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Support in recruitment, staff training, and professional development of the team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a welcoming and collaborative environment.
- Manage resources, budgets, and stock effectively to ensure the nursery operates efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safeguarding and child protection policies.
What We’re Looking For in a Nursery Deputy Manager:
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (required).
- Previous experience in a childcare setting, ideally with some experience in a managerial or deputy role (not essential).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for providing high-quality care in a homely, nurturing environment.
- Ability to support and develop a team of practitioners.
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and safeguarding procedures.
