A National Charity is seeking a Housing Support Worker in Richmond, Surrey, to work closely with service users, ensuring they receive the housing-related support they need to thrive.THE ROLE As a Housing Support Worker, you will support service users through tailored programs, assessments, and ongoing engagement to help them achieve positive outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
  • Engaging with referral agencies, third-sector organizations, and community groups to generate referrals for services.
  • Conducting initial assessments to evaluate service users' needs, risks, and suitability for the program.
  • Designing and delivering structured support plans, referring to specialist agencies as required.
  • Maintaining regular contact with service users, providing professional guidance and acting as a positive role model.
  • Conducting risk assessments and ensuring appropriate actions are taken for safety.
  • Encouraging service user participation in decision-making and service development.
  • Building relationships with external agencies to provide additional support for service users’ needs.
THE CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, supporting vulnerable individuals within a housing or social care setting. You will also have:
  • Experience conducting needs and risk assessments for service users.
  • Strong knowledge of housing support services and welfare benefits.
  • The ability to develop and implement support plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Experience working in partnership with external agencies and community groups.
  • Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
THE CONTRACT
  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
  • 3-month contract, with potential for a temp-to-perm opportunity
  • £16.95 per hour (LTD) / £14.45 per hour (PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay)
