Director of Finance and Operations - £70,000 to £80,000 per year - Permanent - Full Time Office Based - Rickmansworth

FryerMiles are delighted to be partnering with an exciting client within the education sector to support with their recruitment of a Director of Finance and Operations on a permanent basis. This role provides financial oversight, compliance, and staff leadership while delivering strategic insights to the Senior Leadership Team, Trustees and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilties:

• Lead the financial strategy, compliance and sustainability
• Oversee financial procedures, systems, and corporate services, including finance, risk management, legal, and governance
• Liaise with external and internal auditors and manage annual audits
• Ensure efficient financial administration of non-curricular activities, trips, lettings, and third-party income
• Lead on the maintenance of risk registers and advise on financial risk management
• Secure and manage government funding
• Oversee payroll preparation (with the Payroll Officer) and compliance with pensions and Inland Revenue regulations
• Support the HR Manager with financial administration of staff appointments, leavers, and other HR-related financial tasks

The successful candidate:

• Relevant experience within the education sector
• Strong management skills
• Ideally a fully qualified accountant
• Able to commute into the office 5 days a week
