Our client, a well-established company based in Rickmansworth, Herts, is seeking an experienced Grinder to join their expanding engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leader in precision grinding, serving sectors such as Aerospace, Defence, Oil & Gas, Motorsport (including Formula 1), Food/Scientific, and Medical, among others.
About the Company:
Our client quickly became a leader in precision grinding. They offer a comprehensive service, providing parts and sub-assemblies to a diverse range of industries. Due to the growth of their Grinding Department, they are now looking for an experienced Precision Grinder to join their team on a permanent basis.
Key Duties:
- Setting and operating Cylindrical and Surface Grinders, along with other equipment in a busy grinding department.
- Precision grinding of complex parts to tight tolerances.
- Utilising various types of measuring equipment.
- Working with the team to ensure high-quality output and meeting deadlines.
Candidate Requirements:
- CNC Grinding experience (Studer (Fanuc) / Jones & Shipman) – programming & setting experience is a plus.
- Manual Cylindrical and Surface Grinding, including internal and external grinding.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings.
- Proactive team player with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to grind complex parts with precision.
- Experience with small to medium-sized batch work is an advantage.
- Prior experience in a subcontract manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Good communication skills.
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am - 1:00pm
Overtime is paid at 1.5x.
Salary:
Up to £45k (negotiable, based on experience). Overtime paid at time and a half.
