Hours of work: Up to 37 hours per week
The role involves overseeing and developing a team of decommissioning professionals across multiple locations, supporting a wide range of clients. You will report to the Head of Decommissioning and manage a growing team through various stages of decommissioning projects.
Applicants must have experience of the following:
- Minimum 6 years experience in the Nuclear industry
- Leading and managing decommissioning teams in nuclear or engineering sectors.
- Decommissioning activities, including retrievals, POCO, and dismantling.
- Planning, designing, and executing decommissioning projects.
- Hazard identification, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
- Preparing and reviewing technical documentation for decommissioning projects.
Ideally applicants should also have:
- Engineering/Science Degree in a relevant Discipline (Nuclear, D&D, Chemical, Process or Mechanical)
- Previous line management experience is preferred.
- Experience of working on a Decommissioning project is required.
Role information:
- Lead and manage a team of decommissioning professionals, from Graduate to Senior levels.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and conduct staff performance reviews.
- Develop personal growth plans for team members, identifying training and development needs.
- Play a key role in recruitment, reviewing CVs, interviewing candidates, and supporting the recruitment strategy.
- Participate in decommissioning activities including planning, design, waste handling, dismantling, demolition, and delicensing.
- Contribute to all stages of decommissioning projects from feasibility, design, construction to commissioning.
- Develop decommissioning strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and tender documents for decommissioning work.
- Manage the preparation and validation of decommissioning flow diagrams, sequencing, scheduling, and throughput modeling.
- Lead feasibility studies, optioneering, and bespoke decommissioning studies.
- Conduct hazard identification processes like HAZOP and HAZID.
- Maintain and grow client relationships, ensuring the timely delivery of projects to quality standards.
