Axon Moore is seeking a Management Accountant for a successful £250m turnover business in Rochdale, offering a salary between £45,000 and £50,000.
The position requires ownership of accounting for a £30m division and entails producing monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheets.
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), although qualified by experience (QBE) candidates may be considered.
The role involves preparing budgets, improving efficiencies within the finance department, and maintaining effective relationships with the Managing Director.
The working environment is culture-driven, with a 35-hour week and flexible hours, including a lunchtime finish on Fridays.

Taking ownership of a £30m division and reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

Ownership of accounting for 34 sites within the division
Lead the processing and production of monthly management accounts including production of P&L, balance sheets, cash and business forecasts and related analysis
Acting as a key business partner for the Managing Director of the division
Prepare budgets including scenario planning and independent challenge. Roll out the approved budgets and ensure the operational team have a full understanding of financial expectations
Have a focus on controls and improving efficiencies within the Finance department
Responsibility for balance sheet, including reconciliations and supporting documentation
Implementation and regular review of balance sheet reconciliations and controls

Ideal candidate:

Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) / QBEs will be considered however not active studiers
Stock, product costings experience is highly desirable
Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach
The ability to create effective working relationships quickly
Excellent Excel skills to include pivot tables, look-ups and various formulae
