HSE Recruitment at working with an engineering company based in Greater Manchester, who are seeking a Safety Coordinator.This will be a standalone site-based role in a workshop environment. You will have full responsibility for the site but there are opportunities to get involved in other European sites, working with the EMEA HSE Manager.Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support and lead the Health, Safety and Environment strategy, improvement projects and programs at the facility.
  • Implement the Health and Safety Management System according to regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Coordinate and undertake regular safety walks, inspections, and internal audits.
  • Conduct and support, workplace risk assessment, incident investigation and promote proactive reporting of near miss and good catches.
  • Prepare and implement policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate regular safety committee/team and communicate essential safety information to all facility team members.
  • Provide regular updates to senior managers and the EHS Manager EMEAI and attend EMEAI safety meeting and share ideas and best practices.
  • Ensure training (Induction, general, refresher) is current for team members
  • Oversee and maintain relevant documentation such as risk assessments, procedures, training material etc.
  • Lead visits from Local Authority, Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency and other outside agencies as necessary.
  • Be a visible presence on the shop floor to promote high standards of compliance and behaviours, as part of visible felt leadership.
What we are looking for:
  • NEBOSH Certificate (level 3) qualified (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a similar level role, working in engineering, manufacturing or workshop environments
  • Experience conducting risk assessments
  • Good Communication and influencing skills
  • Strong minded, resilient and personable
  • Good computer skills, including use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
