We are seeking a Customs Compliance Officer to ensure our company’s import and export activities are compliant with customs regulations, internal audit regulations, and HMRC regulations. This temporary position is crucial for assessing and updating our processes to meet both internal and external requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:- Process Improvement:Â Review and update internal customs procedures to ensure they are current and compliant with UK regulations, customs laws, and trade agreements.
- Internal Compliance Management:Â Cross-check and update our internal customs procedures against internal group requirements to ensure compliance.
- External Compliance:Â Ensure all customs processes comply with HMRC regulations and other relevant authorities.
- Internal Collaboration:Â Work closely with CIC, purchasing, finance, and logistics partners to align import/export activities with our documented processes.
- 2-3 years’ experience in import/export operations or customs administration.
- Strong understanding of customs procedures, international trade practices, and Incoterms.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance with regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
