My client is a well established construction company in the Northwest, based in Rochdale. Their activities span construction, land reclamation, public realm and environmental works developments, and plant hire and service.
They are seeking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant for a 7-month period covering a maternity leave to commence in October 2024, which may become permanent. You will work in the Finance Department supporting the Group Accountant and wider finance team.
Main Duties:
- Supporting managing processes around Sub-Contractors
- Administering the weekly payroll
- Administration of the Group's Journals and maintenance of Cash books
- Carry out duties associated with Contract Valuation Recordings
- Carry out and manage duties associated with Purchase Ledger
- Carry out any other finance related duties to support the Group Accountant
The successful candidate will be:
- Preferably AAT qualified or qualified by experience
- Competent Accountancy Skills
- A good communicator with strong attention to detail and due diligence
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and work as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise own work
- Confident, numerate, and literate (grade 4/C or above in GCSE Maths and English)
- IT literate - particularly in excel and word.
