Our Rochdale Carers service are looking for a full time Service Manager to lead and oversee a busy and dynamic team.

The successful applicantwill benefit from leading a skilled and motivated team, in a truly hybrid working environment (between home, the office and the community of Rochdale), and will be provided with a thorough induction training programme. Due to some travel across the North of England the post holder is required to have use of a private vehicle for business purposes.

Role Summary:

The post holder will manage and lead the operations of The Rochdale Carers Service. The post holder will undertake distinct project management duties such as staff management, monitoring performance/quality, reporting, implementing policy/process and stakeholder management.

Specific Duties:

    • Responsible for managing and leading the operations of Rochdale Carers
    • Responsible for overall performance of contracts, quality delivery and achievement of outcomes
    • Responsible for reporting and analysing performance, quality and outcomes
    • Support the development, oversee implementation and monitor progress against work plans, stakeholder engagement, community engagement, marketing and communications and operational development plans
    • To develop and maintain relationships/referral pathways with key stakeholders with the express aim of identifying and supporting hidden Carers
    • Oversee the production of a regular newsletter for Carers and professionals
    • Representing the service at Carers specific meetings/events/networks
    • Managing and leading on Carers Week and Carers Rights Day; sourcing sponsorship to fund events, promoting, increasing involvement and using these key dates as a vehicle to identify and support hidden Carers
    • To support the Head of Service at contract reviews providing operational input
    • Responsible for continuous improvement, development and innovation
    • To support implementation of new contracts
    • Responsible for ensuring required policy, process, systems and equipment are in place, fit for purpose, observed by the team and regularly are reviewed
    • Responsible for ensuring staff are using internal and externals systems in line with agreed protocols
    • Responsible for ensuring services and team workings are compliant with legislation and best working practices
    • Manages timely escalation of issues and provides expertise, advice and support to overcome issues and challenges
    • Work with senior management to inform annual operational budgets
    • Responsible for managing expenditure against annual operational budgets and managing petty cash in line with agreed financial procedures
    • Provide on call support for out of hours working
    • Provide team meeting facilitation, line management, supervision and support to direct reports
    • To ensure human resources are managed within the agreed policies and procedures including, recruitment and selection, discipline, grievance, supervision and appraisal
    • To ensure that there are sufficient staffing levels at all times
    • To ensure effective use of volunteers and students
    • Provide contingency support through the Carers Services structure as required

Salary- 34,628 per annum

Hours- 37 hours per week
