Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a teacher with experience of teaching students with social and emotional needs to join a specialist SEND school in Rochdale.

This is a temporary full-time long-term supply role for a qualified SEND teacher from November 2024 to December 2024 in the first instance.

The Role

SEND teacher

Five days a week - 8,30 am to 3.30pm

Teaching a key stage 3 age class with ASD , SEMH and other emotional and behavioural needs

The ideal teacher will -

be committed to inclusion and have a passion for SEND

be an excellent practitioner with the dedication and determination to inspire young people with their learning and development

be able to create imaginative and adapted lessons which meet individual student needs

Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with a range of complex communication, behavioural and medical needs.

Work collaboratively with other staff, pupils, parents and the multidisciplinary team around the child.

Be confident and successful team players able to direct the work of teaching assistants.

While an experienced SEND teacher is preferred, the school are happy to consider applications from secondary teachers with a desire to move into the SEND sector and experience as an SEN TA or with children with complex needs in a support capacity.

The school provides education for pupils and students with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, autism, moderate learning difficulties and specific learning difficulties.

To join us and be successful in this SEND Teacher role, you will need to:

  • Hold QTS Status or QTLS
  • Recent experience of teaching students aged 11 to 16 with SEND
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
