  • The position offers a salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per year, depending on experience.

Site Safety and Environmental Inspector

Location: Isle of Grain

Contract duration: 9 months - Inside IR35- On-site

Belcan is currently looking for an experienced Site Safety and Environmental Inspector to support current projects and have experience with the following:-

Primary Functions:

  • Be conversant with, and able to provide guidance on, applicable health, safety and environment legal requirements and standards.
  • Perform inspections and surveillance, ensuring work is compliant with the Project Health and Safety Plan, Environmental Management Plan, codes, specifications, drawings, procedures and contract. Also, ensure that all required documentation/records are generated and maintained.
  • Ensure that risk assessments and accompanying documentation produced in support of work to be undertaken within the Customer operational site boundary is suitable and sufficient, and compliant with the applicable permit-to-work process, relevant standards, rules and regulations.
  • Promote occupational and behavioural safety within the project to support management with their accountability for the safety of their activities.
  • Gather insight on risks and their reasons.
  • Give balanced feedback to workers that have been observed.
  • Identify barriers and obstacles to safe behaviour and implement ways to overcome them.
  • Providing data for monthly KPIs.
  • Advise Project Management Team on HSE issues.
  • Investigate HSE incidents, develop root-cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are communicated and completed.

Applicants must ideally have experience working in any of the following environments:

  • UK Gas or LNG Projects.
  • Oil & Gas Projects.
  • Petrochemical Projects.
  • LNG Production, Storage, Vaporisation, or Shipping.
  • Cryogenic Pipeline, Process or Gas Compression.
  • Top tier COMAH sites.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree (BEng or equivalent).
