Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production and Packing Supervisor to lead and oversee multiple production and packing lines within our food manufacturing facility. The Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of these lines while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a comprehensive understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, efficiency, labour costs, hygiene standards, quality, and health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage multiple production and packing lines, overseeing the activities of line leaders and operatives to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and achievement of KPIs.

Develop and implement strategies to optimize productivity and efficiency across all production and packing lines, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Monitor KPIs such as productivity, efficiency, labour costs, and quality metrics, analysing data and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational excellence.

Enforce strict adherence to hygiene standards and food safety regulations within production areas, ensuring compliance with industry standards and minimizing the risk of contamination or foodborne illness.

Implement robust quality control measures to maintain product integrity and consistency, conducting regular audits and inspections to identify and address any deviations or defects.

Oversee health and safety protocols, ensuring that all team members comply with safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents and injuries.

Collaborate with other supervisors and department managers to coordinate production schedules, optimize resource allocation, and resolve cross-functional issues in a timely manner.

Provide leadership and support to line leaders and operatives, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to team members, identifying training needs and opportunities for skills development to enhance overall performance and job satisfaction.

Participate in budget planning and cost control initiatives, monitoring labour costs and production expenses to ensure efficient resource utilization and cost-effective operations.

Foster a culture of innovation and excellence, encouraging team members to suggest ideas for process improvements, waste reduction, and product innovation.

Management of Agency Staff during Peak Periods:

Deployment: Schedule and assign agency staff based on workload and skills.

Supervision: Provide guidance, monitor performance, and offer feedback.

Communication: Maintain dialogue with agencies to address issues promptly.

Optimization: Adjust staffing levels to meet production targets efficiently.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal and contractual obligations.

Problem Resolution: Resolve conflicts and issues promptly and professionally.
