Job Role: Quantity Surveyor 

Area: Kent

Salary: £50k – 55k

We have an opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a fast-growing contractor, specialising in commercial fit-out projects. This will be covering sites in East Sussex.

Position Overview

  • Take commercial responsibility for a number of projects from £ 50k - £ 3.5 million.
  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders.
  • Preparation of applications for payment.
  • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
  • Understanding of technical drawings.
  • Produce monthly cash flow forecasts / CVR reports.
  • Obtaining certifications and payments to the agreements within the sub-contract and raising of invoices as necessary.
  • Taking commercial responsibility of the project including any negotiations up to and including final account agreements.
  • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers.
  • Basic knowledge and awareness of contracts JCT and NEC.
  • Be responsible for the collection of retentions.
  • Liaise with Subcontractors / suppliers as necessary with regard to commercial aspects following order placement.
  • To assist and work closely with the Commercial Lead.
  • Ensuring Collateral and Subcontract Warranties are tracked, issued, executed
  • The ideal candidate must be a good team player, highly motivated and enjoy working in a fast-paced working environment.

Position Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Experience in Quantity Surveyor role, specialising in internals/fit-out.
  • Experience within the Healthcare sector would be a benefit.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Full UK Driving License.
