We are looking for a Registered Manager for one of our new Children's Homes in Medway Kent.
Overview
The Registered Children's Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the care and wellbeing of children within a residential or assisted living environment. This position requires a compassionate leader who is dedicated to providing high-quality care while managing a team of caregivers. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in senior care, particularly in settings that involve nursing homes, home care, and dementia care. This role demands strong supervisory skills and the ability to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to each child's needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the children's care facility, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Supervise and support a team of caregivers, providing guidance and training to enhance their skills in child and senior care.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans for each child, ensuring they meet their physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
- Foster a nurturing environment that promotes the wellbeing and development of all children under your care.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate care services effectively.
- Monitor the quality of care provided by staff members, conducting regular assessments and evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, incidents, and any changes in their health or behaviour.
- Stay updated on best practices in child and senior care, incorporating new strategies into the facility's operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- In-depth knowledge of dementia care practices and principles.
- Registered Nurse qualification is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience in senior or child care is essential.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, families, and staff members.
- Ability to develop comprehensive care plans that address individual needs.
- A compassionate approach to caregiving with a focus on enhancing the quality of life for children.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple responsibilities.
