As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional client service, driving precision and compliance in all financial work.

You will be entrusted with managing a diverse client portfolio, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting the growth of junior team members. Your expertise will set the standard for quality and efficiency, and you’ll play a central role in helping clients succeed financially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Portfolio Management: Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring all financial reporting and submissions are accurate, timely, and fully compliant.

  • Preparation of Financial Documents: Prepare client accounts, tax returns, PAYE, and VAT paperwork within set deadlines, ensuring smooth and timely submission to HMRC.

  • Reconciliation and Reporting: Perform detailed reconciliations of client records using Excel and accounting software, maintaining a high standard of accuracy.

  • Audit Excellence: Oversee the completion of client files and audits, ensuring they meet all requirements and deadlines.

  • Client Support: Handle client queries with professionalism and efficiency, providing clear solutions that foster long-term client relationships.

  • Mentorship and Development: Support and mentor junior team members, guiding them to develop their skills and reach their potential within the team.

  • Software Utilisation: Leverage accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks to streamline processes and improve client service.

Key Requirements:

  • Professional Qualification: ACCA/ACA qualified with strong practice experience.

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in managing or mentoring junior team members, with a focus on results and continuous improvement.

  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of accounting regulations, professional standards, and best practices.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
