Reed are seeking a Registered Manager for a Residential Children’s Home in Romford, East London

The role involves leading and managing the home consistent with their therapeutic ethos, delivering high-quality care and outcomes for children.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a Residential Children’s Home setting and be capable of building and maintaining rapport with clients while providing an exceptional level of service.

Registered Manager

  • Salary: £50,000-£55,000 dependent on experience

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide inspirational leadership, supporting both children and the team.
  • Ensure that each child has individual care and care planning that meets their needs.
  • Manage services including staff management, care and placement planning, safeguarding, and monitoring overall quality and compliance.
  • Implement statutory and organisational policies and procedures, ensuring their effectiveness.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements such as the Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards 2015, Children’s Act 1989, and Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Manage the move plan for any child moving to our home and establish positive multi-agency and partnership working.
  • Maintain good relationships with Commissioning Teams and ensure that the home’s ethos is embedded in the service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
  • Commitment to continuing personal development.
  • Previous experience in a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager role in a Residential Children’s Care Setting.
  • Experience working with children, young people, and their families in a residential setting.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a staff team, manage stress, and demonstrate emotional resilience.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures pertaining to running a residential children’s home.
