A leading mechanical and electrical consulting engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a full-time, permanent position due to business growth and a strong project pipeline.
Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in a similar role and possess a degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, with a complete understanding of British regulations and standards.
The role involves preparing electrical designs, conducting surveys, and supervising junior staff, while working on multiple projects including railways and commercial buildings.
The salary for this position ranges from £55,000 to £65,000, with additional benefits such as a 25-day holiday package, pension, and progression opportunities.
Chartered status is advantageous, and candidates must be comfortable communicating effectively with clients and attending design and site meetings.

Our client is a thriving and vibrant practice of mechanical and electrical consulting engineers that has been running over 40 years. They are now looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join them on a full time, permanent basis due to the growth of the business and their strong project pipeline. Current projects include railways, underground schemes, education projects, commercial offices and civic buildings.

Successful candidates will be Chartered, have the requisite qualifications to obtain Chartered Engineer status, or be close to achieving them. They will have a flexible attitude and be comfortable working on a number of projects simultaneously, from inception to completion.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer Position Overview

Prepare calculations in Hevacomp, Dialux (or similar), produce electrical designs without assistance.
Carrying out surveys, preparing reports/specifications.
Communicate effectively to clients
Working on multiple concurrent projects at once.
Undertake surveys and condition reports
Prepare feasibility studies and cost plans
Prepare electrical designs (detailed design) and prepare tender documents.
Attend design, client and site meetings.
Supervise and mentor junior members of staff and CAD team.
Act as Contract administrator on electrical lead projects.
Work as part of a team in multidisciplinary jobs.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer Position Requirements

5 Years+ Experience in a similar role with similar projects
A Complete understanding of British Regulations and standards
Chartership advantageous
Degree in Electrical or building services
Experience with Hevacomp and Dialux

Senior Electrical Design Engineer Position Remuneration

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
Working hours: 9am - 5:30pm
Holiday Package: 25 days + 8BH
