Job Title: Payroll and Compliance Officer

Job location type: Hybrid some on-site work required

Salary: £26,500.00 - £30,000.00 P/A

ADDITIONAL BONUSES

Permanent: Full-time
Monday Tuesday 07:00-17:00 and Wednesday to Friday 08:00-17:30.

Minimum Experience: 1-year in a similar role

About the Role:

As a Recruitment Payroll and Compliance Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our payroll and compliance procedures for temporary staff. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and timely payments to our workforce. Additionally, you will provide support to both internal stakeholders and external clients regarding payroll queries and compliance matters.


Key Responsibilities:

Run timesheet and payroll procedures for temporary staff on a weekly basis, handling all aspects from start to finish.

Register new temporary workers on the payroll system promptly and accurately.

Send costings for authorisation to clients weekly, and follow up to ensure timely approval.

Raise invoices and update purchase orders as necessary, ensuring accuracy and alignment.

Make deductions as required and provide guidance to staff on timesheets, payslips, and discrepancies.

Engage in partial credit control activities, including chasing up payment of invoices from clients.

Address queries and resolve disputes related to missing costings and discrepancies.

Verify bank details and other compliance-related documents for accuracy and completeness.

Collaborate with umbrella companies to ensure accurate payroll processing.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll industry best practices, HMRC tax and NI rules.

Prepare financial reports such as weekly and monthly margin reports, targets, and goals reports.

Communicate weekly progress, accomplishments, and issues encountered to relevant stakeholders.

Create and insert new clients into the payroll system and management system.

Process holiday requests and manage P60 & P45 documentation.

Conduct compliance checks and validate applicants' paperwork and forms, including Right to Work checks.

Utilise standard Office IT software applications effectively.

Ensure accurate calculation of pension contributions and stay informed about relevant legislative changes impacting payroll software and services.


Requirements:

Proven experience in payroll administration within the recruitment industry.

Strong understanding of HMRC tax and NI regulations.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.

Effective communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and support to staff and clients.

Proficiency in standard Office IT software applications.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.

Commitment to maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.

Proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
