The ideal special needs teacher

  • Will hold QTS or QTLS
  • Will be experienced special needs teacher or be quick to learn if not experienced with special needs and coming from a mainstream environment
  • Will be able to support children positively in all situations
  • Will encourage independence
  • Will be able to deliver practical, creative and engaging lessons that facilitate independence
  • Will be adaptable, caring and patient
  • Will have a passion for supporting inclusion and equality in education
  • Flexible teaching curriculum for primary aged pupils.
