About Us:

We are working with a culturally diverse and fully inclusive primary school in Romford, Havering that welcomes all individuals into their nurturing and vibrant environment. The school is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant on an on-going basis. During the morning, the successful candidate would work supporting pupils in EYFS and in the afternoons support pupils in a Learning Zone. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to provide both 1:1 and group support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in supporting pupils in English, Maths and Phonics.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis as required.
  • Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to their progress and achievement.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a Primary School
  • Knowledge: Understanding of supporting pupils with SEN and complex needs
  • Desirable: Experience working with children with SEMH
