Special Need Teaching Assistant - Romford - As soon as possible start.

Recruiting for a STRONG Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support a Yr 2 student 1-1 with SEMH needs, Autism and occasionally showing signs of Challenging Behaviour.

Ideally somebody with Team Teach Training and a kind nurturing personality to work with the class Teacher and SENCO in supporting the students learning.

Monday to Friday - Full Time, Mornings only with the Yr 2 student and to work the rest of the day with reception aged children within the school.

Special Needs Teaching Assistant Role/Qualification:

  • Experience and knowledge working with children that have Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Social Emotional & Mental Health needs.
  • Managing the students behaviour and employing de-escalation skills when required.
  • Able to identify & manage triggers and traits.
  • To work in a team alongside the class teacher and SENCO with the students learning.
  • Team Teach trained would ideally be essential.
  • Knowledge and experience of Phonics, PECS, Makaton or Flash Cards
  • L2/L3 Teaching Assistant, Care or SEND qualification.
