Are you passionate about supporting students with communication needs? Our secondary schools in Romford are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech & Language LSA to join our team immediately.

As a Speech & Language LSA, you will work closely with students who have speech, language, and communication difficulties, helping them to access the curriculum and improve their communication skills. This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with speech and language needs in their academic and social development.
  • Work alongside speech and language therapists to implement tailored intervention plans.
  • Assist teachers in creating a communication-friendly classroom environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students develop their communication skills.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.

We are looking for a Speech & Language LSA who is patient, empathetic, and skilled in supporting students with communication challenges. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with students with speech and language needs or in a similar SEN environment.
  • Strong understanding of speech and language strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in speech and language support are desirable but not essential.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that the successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
