Sonic Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a leading manufacturing company in Romsey, offering a competitive salary of £33,000 - £37,000 per annum plus shift allowances and bonuses, potentially reaching up to £44,000 OTE.
The ideal candidate should have mechanical engineering qualifications and experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards.
The position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to read technical drawings, with some MIG welding experience preferred.
This is a full-time, permanent role with Monday to Friday rotating shifts, and applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be able to commute to Romsey.

Job Description

Were hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company in Romsey!

Youll work in a well-established maintenance team, ensuring smooth plant operations while contributing to continuous improvements in Health & Safety, efficiency, and productivity.

The role would suit someone with a background in mechanical engineering, ideally with some MIG Welding experience.

This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!

What youll be doing

Maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Maintain production machinery such as Hoppers, Conveyors, Motors, Gearboxes etc
Respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime
Conduct PPM and refurbish parts in the onsite workshop
Monitor stock levels and process part requisitions
Assist in new equipment installations and factory upgrades
Support machine setup and changeovers
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards
Some MIG welding of parts for machines

Hours

Monday-Friday, rotating shifts; 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm

Pay

Basic £33,000 - £37,000 per annum (Depending on Experience) + Shift Allowances + Monthly Performance Bonuses

OTE = Upto £44,000 per annum

Skills/Experience Required

Mechanical engineering qualifications (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent)
Experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Ability to read technical drawings and use welding/grinding equipment
Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
Health & safety awareness
