Job Description

Were hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company in Romsey!

Youll work in a well-established maintenance team, ensuring smooth plant operations while contributing to continuous improvements in Health & Safety, efficiency, and productivity.

The role would suit someone with a background in mechanical engineering, ideally with some MIG Welding experience.

This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!

What youll be doing

  • Maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Maintain production machinery such as Hoppers, Conveyors, Motors, Gearboxes etc
  • Respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Conduct PPM and refurbish parts in the onsite workshop
  • Monitor stock levels and process part requisitions
  • Assist in new equipment installations and factory upgrades
  • Support machine setup and changeovers
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards
  • Some MIG welding of parts for machines

Hours

Monday-Friday, rotating shifts; 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm

Pay

Basic £33,000 - £37,000 per annum (Depending on Experience) + Shift Allowances + Monthly Performance Bonuses

OTE = Upto £44,000 per annum

Skills/Experience Required

  • Mechanical engineering qualifications (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent)
  • Experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use welding/grinding equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
  • Health & safety awareness
