Our client, a highly respected name in civil engineering and infrastructure—renowned for their commitment to staff development, low turnover, and leadership in renewable-focused projects—is seeking an experienced Sub-Agent. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a major highway project that will deliver long-lasting benefits to North Scotland.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis position involves leading and managing a section of works within a specific discipline, overseeing a team of Section Engineers and Site Engineers for the design and construction of 9km of new dual carriageway. The scope includes associated earthworks, drainage, access tracks, structures, and utilities near Inverness in the north of Scotland.
Following recent contract awards, further opportunities are available across the North and Central Belt of Scotland within our civil engineering, highways, and major builds teams.
Key Responsibilities- Managing the construction site to ensure smooth and safe operations
- Attending pre-start and progress meetings on-site to align project objectives
- Preparing site plans, risk assessments, and method statements
- Overseeing cost control and scheduling to meet project timelines
- Ensuring work complies with safety and environmental standards and meets programme requirements
- Reporting on contractual milestones to the client
- Minimum HNC qualification in Civil Engineering
- Experience in civil engineering within a contracting environment is preferred
- Familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to work away from home, as projects may be based throughout Scotland
