This thriving SME business is entering into an exciting period of growth and development, and they need you at helm in accounts to lead the charge in facilitating a 150% increase in turnover over the next 3-year period.

With a newly appointed commercial and strategic Director now in place, their vision is to create a strong and decisive senior leadership team, inclusive of this placement and other key leaders. This is the first "Senior Finance" hire for the business, a newly created role, so it's a phenomenal opportunity for someone to come in and have an immediate positive effect on the business.

As the Director put it "this role really is for someone to make their own!".

Your role will centre around team management, enhancing existing processes, implementing KPIs, producing detailed reporting and analysis, creating the cashflow forecast and managing cash as well as ensuring finance and operations work together in perfect harmony - You are the missing link.

To give you an idea of the existing structure and where you'll come in…

  • Reporting: You'll maintain an accurate financial overview of key projects including cost allocation, reconciliation, margin analysis, key client review, new opportunities & risks
  • Team Management: You'll oversee a team of 2 x transactional staff and 2 x admins
  • Cashflow Management & Forecasting: Luckily, you're joining a cash rich, profitable business, that up to this point hasn't needed a forecast. With the growth project outlined, they're looking for detailed forecasting to be implemented - You'll lead this.
  • External Accountants & Management Accounting: You'll bring the MAs in-house and further increase the visibility and accessibility of live info for the Directors
  • Process improvement: You'll be the last point of call and auditor of all working covered by the team, and support in ensuring slick and efficient turn arounds

Loads to get your teeth into - A challenge, yes, but an exciting one to lead.

It's an SME business, so as you can expect, you'll need to be comfortable with getting involved in all aspects of accounts, from the ledgers upwards. It's a hands-on and well-rounded position…Something which will be incredibly rewarding for someone who loves working directly with a business owners to drive their accounts function.
