GI Group are now seeking to appoint a Technician in Construction Skills to our client based in Rotherham. The Technician in Construction Skills will help and support the Construction facilities within a busy college.

Main Duties of the Technician in Construction Skills:

  • Provide support to staff and students in workshop sessions. You would be working within the Bricklaying, Carpentry and Joinery, Electrical Installations and Plumbing and Heating programmes
  • Prepare and set out equipment and materials as directed
  • Provide safety cover during practical classes
  • Assist in the construction of apparatus and preparation of materials for use in classes
  • Cleaning and tidying workshops and practical areas

Role Requirements:

  • Experience of working in the construction industry
  • Level 2 vocationally relevant qualification
  • Good trade skills
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety issues
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
