With 40 years of knowledge and experience, the company is expanding and seeking an experienced Electrician for their Wiltshire branch to cover clients across the South West.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Diagnostics: Utilize working knowledge of electrical systems for maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostics on existing systems.
  • Installation: Install new electrical systems, including lighting and heating, according to customer standards.
  • Compliance: Ensure electrical systems adhere to national electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Project Completion: Use plans, wiring schematics, and manufacturers' installation manuals to complete projects.
  • Repair & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and domestic systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, testing, and monitoring.
  • Parts & Documentation: Assess and order parts required for jobs, complete work orders, and record materials used.
  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and testing, ensuring installations meet manufacturer standards.
  • Problem Escalation: Identify and repair electrical problems, escalating issues as needed.
  • Quality Workmanship: Ensure quality workmanship that upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fire & Security Systems: Install fire detection and security alarm systems, including emergency lighting, remote monitoring, intruder alarms, access controls, intercoms, and nurse call systems.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Provide ongoing reactive maintenance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Contract Managers to ensure timely completion and rescheduling of works.
  • Support: Assist customers and support company operations, including sales, administration, and other areas as needed.
  • Supervision & Support: Offer supervisory and technical support to colleagues and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Adhere to company guidelines and standards of work, complete necessary documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Training & Health and Safety: Attend training courses and meetings, oversee the development of colleagues, and follow company Health and Safety guidelines.

Essential Skills

  • Qualifications: City & Guilds 2360 and 2382 qualifications or equivalent electrical qualifications (ECS Gold Card); City and Guilds Inspection and Testing Certificate (2391).
  • Regulations Knowledge: Working knowledge of IEE Regulations and familiarity with NICEIC requirements.
  • Experience: 3-5 years’ experience as a qualified Electrician with service, installation, remedial, and maintenance experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Policies & Safety: Knowledge of company policies, processes, procedures, and safety standards.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £35k - £37k (DOE).
  • Company Van: Provided with a fuel card.
  • IT Equipment: Company mobile phone and relevant IT equipment, depending on the role.
  • Holidays: 28 days (including bank holidays), with an additional day added every 2 years of service (up to 25 days).
