GSL Education are actively seeking a dedicated and adept SEMH Supply Teacher to join our team in Batley. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational journey of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

As an SEMH Supply Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with specific emotional and behavioural challenges. Working closely with them as an educator, your role will be to provide overall coverage in various educational settings, ensuring continuity in learning and emotional support.

Responsibilities of the SEMH Supply Teacher:

  • Deliver bespoke, engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of SEMH students.
  • Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of student progress and behavioural trends.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe and supported.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff to devise and implement effective strategies for individual students.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment to support students' emotional well-being.

Requirements of the SEMH Supply Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Proven experience working with students exhibiting SEMH challenges is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and inspire students.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with strong problem-solving abilities in dynamic settings.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
