Role- Laser Operator ( 4 Day week)

Location- Rotherham

Hours - Negotiable, Mon- Thurs or Tues - Fri 40 hours

Salary- £14ph starting rate rising to £14.50 after probation

My client is a leading sub contract fabrication/machining company in Rotherham, Currently looking for an experienced Laser operator, Bystronic would be an advantage but not essential, other experience will be considered (Trumpf, Amada etc)

Key Skills You must be competent in the following areas

    • Setting and operating a high specification laser cutting machine in a sub-contract environment
    • Reading and interpreting customer drawings, including isometric & basic 2D/3D
    • Organising internal paperwork
    • Either operating, or be prepared to be trained in the use of, a modern CNC Pressbrake machine in a sub-contract environment

Key Tasks You must be capable of the following activities.

    • To operate the laser to a high level of safety and productivity
    • Ensure the Laser Cutting machinery, and any other manufacturing machinery, is running to its optimum at all times, ensuring maximum output whilst keeping a high standard of quality.
    • Keeping the production area clean, safe and tidy at all times.
    • Assisting with stock control of all raw materials and consumables, making sure the system known as ‘Progress’ is kept up to date. 
    • To communicate and liaise with the Directors on all working practices including health and safety issues.
    • Achieving the agreed dispatch date of customer orders
    • Achieving the agreed quantity and cut quality of customer orders
    • Managing shop floor materials and stock levels both for full size sheets and      off-cut remnants. 
    • Safe working in the use of the companies fork lift truck
