We are recruiting a dedicated and detail-orientedUnderwriterto join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for packaging, processing, and underwriting Mortgage and Secured Loan Applications, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and process new loan applications in line with lending criteria from receipt to completion.
  • Provide regular updates to introducers and customers on case progression.
  • Handle queries via telephone, email, and letters from brokers and customers.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements throughout the loan application process.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and strive to exceed expectations.
  • Provide management with update reports on case progression and various other information and complete administrative duties in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Skills

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Confident telephone manner and excellent customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Motivated and passionate about achieving great outcomes.
  • Experience in a Loan & Mortgage lending environment (desirable, not essential).
  • Knowledge of FCA regulation of Loans & Mortgages (desirable, not essential).

What's On Offer

This permanent position offers a competitive salary of £26,500 - £28,000 per annum (depending on experience). The role operates Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, requiring no weekend work.

In addition to the salary, the role comes with a range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave inc. bank holidays, rising with service up to 38 days in total. The business offers annual bonuses and a pension scheme.
