Salary: £140 - £190 per day

GSL Education are looking for a skilled and compassionate SEN (Special Educational Needs) Supply Teacher to join the committed team of client school in Batley. This is a unique opportunity to positively influence children's educational experiences and assist those with a variety of academic needs.

As an SEN Supply Teacher, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality education to students with Special Educational Needs. Being their educator, you need to make sure that every student receives the individualised help they need to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities of the SEN Supply Teacher:

  • Develop and implement individualised lesson plans that cater to the specific learning needs of students with SEN.
  • Foster a welcoming and safe classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Adjust teaching strategies and lesson plans as needed, demonstrating resilience and creativity in response to challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff to devise and implement effective strategies for individual students.
  • Work alongside other teachers, support staff and specialists to create an integrated approach to learning and development.

Requirements of the SEN Supply Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Additional qualifications or training in special educational needs, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a focus on SEN, can be highly beneficial.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and inspire students.
  • Prior experience working with students who have special educational needs.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with strong problem-solving abilities in dynamic settings.
  • Strong organisational abilities to manage lesson plans, assessments and student records efficiently
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
