Dutton Recruitment is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Surveyor to assist our client with valuation work, based in South Yorkshire.

Role Overview: This role will begin with valuation work for Right to Buy housing purposes and may also include asset valuations for financial purposes. Once the backlog of valuations is addressed, the position will transition to a more generic estates surveyor role with a broader workload.

Key Details:

  • Local government experience is desirable but not essential.

  • Registered Valuer status is not required, as a registered valuer will review and sign off the work.

  • Office/site attendance is required at least three days per week. Please ensure you can commit to this before applying.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical and professional advice to the service and its customers.

  2. Lead or support research, special investigations, and service improvement projects, including performance management and contract oversight, ensuring delivery within budget.

  3. Manage the day-to-day administration of the service and projects, including timetables, record keeping, and document maintenance.

  4. Oversee the successful implementation of project actions, including quality checks and auditing processes where necessary.

  5. Administer contracts, including certification of payment applications, issuing instructions, monitoring and controlling project expenditures, and issuing certificates of practical completion.

  6. Monitor and manage significant budgets.

  7. Lead and manage a small team, including workload planning.

  8. Conduct research, analyse and interpret diverse information sources, produce management information, and prepare reports.

  9. Develop action plans, work programmes, and assist with the creation and implementation of policies and procedures.

  10. Organise and chair meetings, focus groups, and working groups, both internally and externally, and ensure delivery of resulting actions.

  11. Foster positive working relationships with customers, colleagues, local authorities, external agencies, and the private sector.

  12. Present formal and informal reports to management, including recommendations for improvement or future action.
