Responsibilities for the role of Lecturer in Motor Vehicle

  • You will take an active role in supporting staff and students in workshop sessions by providing technical services to support the delivery of the college programmes within our motor vehicle provision
  • Proactively work in our motor vehicle workshops and you will use your knowledge, experience and ideas to continuously improve our current processes and procedures with the potential to develop these further to create the best training facilities for the student
  • Responsible for providing technical assistance and advice by taking an active role in supporting academic staff and students in all workshop activities

Specifications for the role of Lecturer in Motor Vehicle

  • You will hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 or above, as well as a relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or be willing to work towards
  • You will be able to bring the subject to life, using combined methods of practical, theoretical and digital which will engage your learners and provide them with the best skills, knowledge and behaviours for the future
  • You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake)
  • Good sickness/attendance record in current/previous employment, college or school as appropriate, (not including absences resulting from disability)
  • Ideally will have previous relevant work experience in industry/commerce within a specialist area
  • Preferably hold an assessment qualification (i.e. D32/D33 A1) or TAQA (or willingness to work towards)
  • Ideally have a sound understanding of Further Education Methodology
